Munich Germany
Munich is the capital of the state of Bavaria, Germany. It has about 1.3 Million inhabitants and it's a town of extreme opposites. You will see ancient customs, traditional bavarian costumes and old style beer gardens side by side with progression, prosperity and the newest trends in lifestyle and culture. In Bavaria and Germany as well, Munich is known for its high living standards. The rents are comparatively high and the jet set is feeling comfortable in hip clubs and noble restaurants. The town is also a media centre, hosting many TV and internet companies as well as publishing houses. For any Germany vacation, Munich is a great place to visit. Many places of interest can be visited like the Residence, which is one of the greatest castle areas of Europe. Munich is also called the "Rome of Germany" because of it's variety of churches and convents. One of the highlights is the Church of Our Lady, the town's unmistakable landmark. The atmosphere in Munich is rather cosy for a big city. Many beer gardens and cafes invite to relax and the people tend to be friendly and unhurried. Munich is also home to one of the biggest parties of the world, the Oktoberfest. About 6 Million people from all over the world meet here every year to celebrate with unique Bavarian beer and traditional German food, like "Brathendl" (roasted chicken) and "Schweinswuerstl" (Bavarian veal sausages). If you're not happening to be in Munich during Oktoberfest, you can become acquainted with traditional Bavarian beer and food by visiting a traditional brewery or beer garden.
